Richard “Dick” Leland is the President of the NASTAR Center. He has been with the company for 16 years holding positions as the Director of the AeroMedical Training Institute (AMTI) and Vice President for Aircrew Training Systems (ATS). Dick has over 15 years experience as a Life Support Officer and Aircraft Mishap Investigator, specializing in life support and survival equipment-aircrew interface and human factors. He also has over 19 years experience as an Aerospace Physiologist, Instructor, and courseware developer.
He has over 28 years of progressive experience holding positions including: Cockpit Resource Management Instructor, Director of Flight Support Operations and Training; Physiological Support Squadron Commander; USAF Pilot, Aircraft Commander, and Instructor Pilot. Dick is a retired USAF officer with a Command Pilot rating and has more than 3,100 hours experience in the T-37, T-38, and B-52H. He was a board certified Hyperbaric Technologist, directing several successful emergency treatment dives.
Mr. Leland has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.
